East Texas Coins is owned and operated by Charles A Holmes. Charles began his numismatic career as a coin collector in 1963. By 1973 he was a part time dealer and in 1987, after several years of working for other coin dealers, he started his own company as a full time professional numismatist.

In the early 1990's, Charles' career took a transition when he was asked to purchase a coin collection on behalf of another coin dealer. This led to a second request, then a third and eventually Charles became a specialist in purchasing and liquidating large coin collections, hoards, and accumulations. His extensive travels over the years have allowed him to purchase and resale thousands of numismatic rarities and hundreds of major collections in 46 of the lower 48 states. As well as collectors in Canada and Mexico.

In recent years Charles has been an occasional speaker at events, seminars, and conferences. As an authority on rare coins, precious metals, and geoeconomics. He is an active trader in the gold and silver commodity markets.

Selling Your Coins
Each year, Charles travels tens of thousands of miles to buy American coin collections. He purchases about 95% of those he sees. If your collection is large enough we'll be happy to visit you too. Smaller collections that are not large enough to warrant a visit can be sent to us by registered and insures U.S. Mail. Please note that we have never lost a single coin by using registered mail It's very safe when you follow our simple shipping instructions. You can even visit us if you are close enough or happen to be passing through or visiting Texarkana. Visiting a nearby city? We could also meet with you in Dallas, Houston, Shreveport, Little Rock, Memphis, or any one of the small towns or cities within a few hours drive of Texarkana. All collections are paid for by company check. Please note that we have been at the same bank for 18 years.

Shipping Coins to Us
Pack your collection in one or more cardboard boxes tight enough so that nothing rattles. Include a list of each boxes content along with your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address in each box. Completely wrap the box with reinforced paper tape available from any office supply. Print our address directly on the box. Do not use a label. Tell the Postal Clerk you want to ship it by registered mail. Do not tell the clerk what is in the box. Even though we have never lost a registered package, we recommend that you insure each box for what you think it might be worth. We will contact you within a day or two after receiving your package.
